FREE TASTER SESSIONS SATURDAY 18TH MAY 2013

Hi Folks!

My name is James Tucker
I am the Director of Music Fountain Education Ltd.

Here is some more information about what we do, and how we do it!

We are based in Teddington and we run themed music and art after-school clubs and holiday camps for children age 5 to 10.
An engaging team brings the musical world of Mozo Island to life through exciting workshops, with an emphasis on playing and learning instruments in groups.
During the events Art activities balance the focus of energies and encourage team-work through project and puzzle solving in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

The Courses

In a Mozo Island session, children jam with the band in the beach club on a range of instruments including electric guitars, keyboards and recorders. The clubs are based on the Mozo Island story that can be seen at the website: www.mozoisland.com .
Art activities encourage teamwork through project and puzzle solving in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Children watch the fruit characters rocking, and jam with the band in the beach club with their instruments and voices. There are no boundaries - everyone can join in, whatever their skills or ability.

Results: Proven to increase the uptake of ensemble instruments (with Year 2, 3 and 4 children), by engaging them in positive musical experiences right from the very beginning.

The Locations

We currently have a partnership with the Hurlingham School in Putney, with courses that are now in their fourth successful year. We have established a team consisting of our staff and Hurlingham teachers, to deliver fantastic events that run efficiently and help the department develop award winning talented children.

We are now working in partnership with Simon Taylor owner of the widely popular Ritz Music Shops. After hearing about our events in the Putney area, Simon was eager to open his lovely tuition spaces to us in the Sheen Road branch where we will be running a five-day summer camp in July and a regular after-school music club starting in September 2013.

Take it from them….

“ They were playing music all day at the holiday club, then when they got home they went straight on the website… and they have done that every day this week!“
C. H.: Parent

“ The afterschool club has been a hugely enjoyable experience for our young budding musicians at Hurlingham. The informal approach really helps to hold their interest and develop their musical listening skills. The children learn how to play a number of instruments and the interactive IT element is a fun learning tool.“
Andy Thwaite: Director of Music - Hurlingham School

“…It seems to be really good in many ways . . . maybe this needs to be added to the Lambeth Music Service’s online arsenal.”
Brendon Le Page: Head of Lambeth Music Service, comments on the website and resources.

Look forward to seeing you soon!

A Bit Slack..

A bit busy actually...

The last few events have been great.

We have been so immersed in music making, making up great mini-comic stories and 'walking down the street counting our feet' , that we clean forgot/ didn't get round to telling everyone all our news!

Before Christmas in October 12, we had a wonderful group of musicians join us from years 1-3. We had a jolly old time and got everyone strumming and singing away to the reliable 'Blues in A'.

The words go something like:

" Zero, zero, two, three, zero, zero, two, three, zero, zero, two, three, zero, zero, two, three....."

You get the idea. Now it may not be poetry, but it is certainly catchy; when you have 25 x whatever happens to be in the room type -instruments all doing the same thing. Man, those kids were swingin!!

We had the pleasure of inviting the amazing Luke Patrick Dixon to capture the action with his camera, and the pictures are great. The children were really enjoying themselves and they liked having him around. Checkout the children from the October 2012 event in Luke's wonderful pictures.

October Gallery coming soon.

More news to follow.... Dont go any where!
